King Solomon from "700 WIVES - The Musical" seeks several shimmying wives.
AUDITIONS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25th from 7 to 8 PM
Pearl Studios
500 8th Ave between 35th and 36th Streets
Please prepare a 3-minute routine. You can do a portion of a song, just to show your technique (in particular shimmies, arabic/algerian hip walk, hip circles and figure 8s). Feel free to bring zills and/or veil.
Dancers are needed for a large, choreographed bellydance number towards the end of the two-hour show. Dancers may arrive -- in costume -- as late as 10 minutes before the number. There are two other bellydance numbers earlier in the show that you can choose to be in, but that is not mandatory.
Basically, the director wants to have a large enough pool of dancers that know the choreography so that every dancer does not need to commit to all performances. (The director hopes for at least three dancers per show.)
The production will run from 7/16 through 8/3, Wednesdays through Saturdays @ 8pm, Sunday matinees @ 3pm, at the Richmond Shepard Theatre, 309 E. 26th Street at 2nd Ave.
Dancers will have to attend a few evening or weekend rehearsals to learn the basic choreography, as well as the dress/tech rehearsals during the evenings of 7/l4 and 7/l5.
Salary is $30 per show. Theater critics will be invited.
For more information, please contact the writer/director, Ginger Reiter, at Gaby119 @ aol.com or 561-479-3665.
Also go to www.theateronline.com/playbill.xzc for info on the NY production, or go to www.solomons700wives.com/Videos.htm for video/audio clips from the original Palm Beach production.
Thanks!
