An internationally known performer and artist, Darshan (aka Cammi Vance) comes to Portland to teach her signature fusion bellydance! With her workshop entitled Trilogy, Darshan will teach Ritual, Shadow/Glamour, and Strength. This is a perfect workshop to bring your whole dance company or troupe! All Levels.

Dance Dynamics with Darshan
Move, drill, and explore
theatrical bellydance,
dynamic expression,
depth of dance
through the
'Shaman, Showgirl, Warrior'
approach.
Ritual
Take glimpses of ritual, trance, elementals, offerings, temple dance, integrate them and give them your personal touch
Shadow/Glamour
Strengthening line and technique, pulling in world dance fusions, practicing attitude, staging, and orientation change, to fine tune the intellect and relationship aspects of your dance
Strength
Ask yourself, 'what is strength?' Perhaps it is balance, or power, or fearlessness--of challenge, of truth, of breaking through barriers. What is your challenge? What is your strength? Can you find your edges in dance?
Concepts to be explored through active drills, combinations, and exercises.

Darshan (aka Cammi Vance) has been studying the infinite arts of bellydance and beyond for over 17 years, and has come up with the Trilogy as a set of tools through which the dancer can rotate in order to always be moving towards greater depth, dynamic, and presence in his/her art. In fact, the Trilogy is just a set of boxes for an infinite arsenal of tools of expression.
Currently based in NYC, (dreams based in PDX,) Darshan performs and teaches internationally, and has released several instructional DVDs. She is a Gypsy Caravan alumnus (ca 1995-2003), Dalia Carella Dance Collective member (since 2003: off Broadway seasons 'In Search of a Goddess', 'Cabaret Macabre,' 'Badawiyat,' and repertory), co-founder of PURE, private coach and choreographer. Also a massage therapist and an exercise trainer in rehab and fitness, Darshan has a unique sense of alignment perception and the practice of dance, and believes dance should be a pleasure in the body.
Darshan and Cammi will also have appointments available for private coaching (dance or exercise) and massage, respectively, during her Portland stay Nov 1-9. For questions and appointments email darshandances@hotmail.com
