Hi there,
I'm PanDoor, and some of you know me from the gatherings at Short Mountain.
I'm trying to relocate from Asheville, N.C. to NYC for the summer, and possibly longer, and am looking for a sublet and/or a place to stay while looking for one.
Here's a copy of a post I sent out to some of the other tribes (sorry if you get multiple copies of this).:
I've been living in Asheville, N.C., for the past 15 years, and am wanting a change and an opportunity to pursue my musical career.
I have a job lined up that starts June 2, and I thought I had an apartment lined up as well, but it fell through right as I was leaving NY to come to Chicago, where I am visiting friends. I've been in contact with several other people about places, but it's very hard to work out from here.
So, I'm wondering if there's anyone in NYC who: 1) might have or know someone with a sublet situation or 2) be willing to host a friendly freak for a short spell while I find a place.
About me: I'm 32 years old, a musician, writer, and graphic designer. My music can be heard at www.logosmusic.net. I'm pretty easygoing and neat. I like to cook, and though I eat meat, I mostly cook vegetarian and am willing to accommodate any requirements about shared kitchen space. Of course, you can check out my profile or email me if you want to know more.
As far as the sublet is concerned, I'm looking for something in the range of up to $700 a month (plus utilities).
In terms of a temporary place to stay while looking for a place, even a few days would be great, or as long as a week. I don't need much space, and I'm happy to contribute in any way possible ? financial, barter, or otherwise. Want a short-term personal chef? Dishwasher? Masseur? Magic tricks?
If so, please let me know, or feel free to give out my phone number, which is (828) 301-3883. I can be in NYC within 24 hours after knowing I have somewhere to rest my head. At the latest, I need to be in the city by June 1.
Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
PanDoor
