The Sounds of Taraab just finished some studio recording, laying down tracks with Alsarah singing "Chozi Lanitoka", a Kenyan hit from the 90's sung originally by Sharmila and the Black Star Orchestra. Alsarah's rendition is sung in Swahili and Arabic, singing the verses alternately. The tempo is moderate by driving, the melody really ancient and central African, but with oud, violin, and accordion giving the slightly Near Eastern taraab instrumentation feel.
