The American Indian Community House Gallery is pleased to present, ?Long Road Home,? a two-person exhibition featuring the work of Frank Mitchell (Cherokee/Blackfoot) from Iowa City, Iowa and Renzo Spirit Buffalo (Lakota) of New York City. Both artists work in a variety of media including photography and painting as well as video and mixed media installation. Mitchell, who received his MFA from the University of Iowa in Multimedia/Intermedia, creates work that intentionally walks the line between high and low, between clunky and slick. His nocturne paintings embody this duality by fusing a goth sensibility with traditionally sentimental subjects like children or animals. Spirit Buffalo, a multi-media artist originally from South Dakota, has worked professionally in film and fashion photography. This exhibition will feature, ReZervations, USA, a multi-media installation which documents his ongoing cross-country journey through Indian communities across the nation. Using the road sign as a point of entry, Spirit Buffalo invites the audience to join him on his quintessential American road trip, exploring these communities and their complexities as both an insider and outsider.

Gallery Talk by Frank Mitchell: Saturday, May 14th, 2pm, AICH Gallery, 2nd Floor, NY, NY (212) 598-0100, x240.
