Located on Smith St. near the Carroll Gardens subway stop, Chance offers French/Chinese fusion cuisine in a quiet setting. I enjoyed a meal there on a visit in June -- if the weather's decent, see if you can get a table on their back patio. It's tiny, but not overly crowded. The service is good, the food's fine (with haute cuisine portion sizes), and the atmo is comfortable and low-key.
