NuBlu is a club where you take a chance on the music. Sometimes its awesome and sometimes you just stare at the band and wonder what the heck they are doing on stage. The club itself is cool, but the area in front of the stage puts you in the singers mouth and it is usually too crowded to dance. The a/c never works so it gets so hot you can't breathe. If you want to spend your time outside trying to look cool, then you won't mind. I only pop in for shows that are sure things quality-wise. - Aj , posted 01/09/06 |

seriously, the music is pretty much always good, and the crowd is always eclectic. Weekends it's usually too loud to converse with more than 2, but weeknights it's pretty chill. - B/Monk , posted 11/30/05 |

So hip it hurts. There is no sign in front of this building with an East Village squat facade. Once you do finally find it and step inside, you forget your annoyance toward their seeming pretentiousness. Instead, you revel in the quirky, chill ambience, gorgeous patio, and cozy but not cramped main space where they have djs and live performances from such bands as Kudu (see their review). - Unsubscribed , posted 04/18/05 |
