"The best of the best of classic Street Fighters"
The main reason why I loved playing Super Street Fighter II was because there were 7 different colors you can choose from (every character had 7!), there were also 16 characters to choose from! Including a few new ones that were never seen in a Street Fighter game plus! 4 bosses to play with, and new locations (Hong Kong was my favorite).
This game had lots of variety, and sound. It became the king of classic Street Fighter games, people really got into this one in the Arcades and console versions sold really well. The introduction isn't as good as the 1991 Street Fighter II where the two guys are brawling in front of a building where a large crowd is watching then one of them gets punched in the face after this the STREET FIGHTER II logo flips into the screen I deffinatly loved the music to the introduction as well.
Super Street Fighter II was a bit more challenging than the rest, but like all Street Fighter games you can change the difficulty by going to options and increasing or decreasing the stars to your desired level of gameplay. I usualy played the game with 5 stars and it was still hard. The highest you can go is about 12 stars or 14 stars.
As usual you have your typical kick, punch, jump, and block mechanics but! There are also new moves added into the mixture. Ryu can shoot a fire ball this time around and it is deadly, Ken on the other hand has an upgraded fire upper cut that can do serious damage.
When selecting your character you dont have to keep the same boring color like in the other Street Fighter games where you only had two colors. This time you can choose 7 colors and this was a great add on to the game.
Wether you have a Super Nintendo or a Sega Genesis Super Street Fighter II is for both systems and they are both great. Except its more conferable to play fighting games on the Super NES and somtimes the graphics look twice as better than the Sega Genesis.
