I had the pleasure of spending some time with Marisa Scirocco at CoSM after the recent full moon celebration. This wonderful artist is no stranger to me, as I greatly love and admire her artistry, with dance and fire. Marisa is a welcome affiliate of The Gossamer Court because of these talents alone. Her performances with THOTH are other-worldly, so we are using royal prerogative, in excusing Our rather remiss self, for a major oversight. I should have asked this beautiful artist for a peek at her fashion portfolio earlier! It took me quite awhile to go through a dozen pages because it was important for me to take it all in. The quality and sophistication of her designs, the blending of fabric and weaving of color is most impressive. The clothing she designs is both striking and stunning. You would expect to see designs like this in a major house or from the top graduate of a fine fashion institute. My friend Marisa, for the most part is self-taught. As far I am concerned, the above quote of hers, with regard to her art, in this case clothing design, is a humble and sincere understatement. To say more, I only wear the designs of two of my friends. Marisa will now make three, as I plan to commission her to create an ensemble for me to wear at more formal occasions. My taste with regard to fashion is not just about the way that clothing wears and looks, but the way it helps me to project and reflect the inner-self in a state of comfort. Please support the artists, designers and performers in your life. Please support the work of Marisa Scirocco. Beauty does create beauty!
